Synopsis: Rachel, a werewolf/accountant, is asked to keep one eye on Vampire Queen Betsy Taylor and the other peeled for a rogue werewolf who's itching to start a war. But her attention is mostly on a sexy, mysterious stranger she wishes she could trust.

The Good: This was more of a crossover of Davidson's Queen Betsy series and her Wyndham Werewolf stories, as opposed to a straight sequel to Derik's Bane. I love crossovers with characters I know and love and Wolf at the Door was all the better because of it's link between the series.

The Bad: Sadly, this sequel to Derik's Bane didn't really feature any of the werewolves we know of. Michael makes a brief appearance, and Lara is mentioned in passing, but this book was mostly abouit an unknown werewolf sent to keep an eye on Betsy and hilarity was to ensue. Except it didn't. Not really. A few chuckle worthy moments, but for the most part, the story slowly chugs along, sort of dry. I could have just put this one down and never picked it up again, not missing anything - with is something I can't usually say when it comes to MJD.
