Series: Book 3 of The Vampire Diaries

Elena, believing she was helping her boyfriend, Stefan, is tricked by his brother Damon into exchanging blood with him - little realizing that this will transform her into a vampire too. Now crazed with her own wild craving for blood, it is up to Stefan to save her - but first he must find a way to end his feud with Damon...

I really like the progression of The Vampire Diaries. The Awakening was okay, The Struggle was good and The Fury was pretty fantastic. I completely stand by my earlier opinion that you must read this series in order and preferably one right after another. This series has moved from being one of your generic vampire stories with the required love triangle to being so much more.

Elena's becoming a vampire was surprising and the revelation of the ultimate villain of the series was truly shocking. The Fury is a wild ride leading to a sad and unexpected ending. I love how Elena learns that having a few close friends you can count one is so much more important than having a pack of less than loyal followers and hangers-on. The Fury is definitely my favorite in the series so far.

  1. OH NO! Did I just read that right? I wonder if the show is going to follow the same progress as the books. I am just watching the show. OH NO-my eyes! LOL, just kidding. I am glad to know the books are good. Are you watching the show too?

  2. Certainly was the best book in the series :) Good review!!
