Demonic Books
Demonic literature does a fantastic job of keeping the evil creatures of hell from turning a story into a religious free-for-all. While demons are almost universally identified as being from hell, authors are doing fantastic things to make books more than just debates over the religious connotations of Heaven vs. Hell.Best YA:
The Personal Demons series by Lisa Desrochers
The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare
Best Adult:
The Lords of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter
The Dark Redemption series by Yvonne Navarro
Demonic Movies
Demonic movies don't stretch themselves as far as authors take the books above. Most demonic movies are firmly entrenched in religion and often fail to take it a step further by making the demons themselves more important that where they come from. Needless to say, Demonic movies aren't my favorites, but the ones listed below are definitely the best of the bunch.Rosemary's Baby (1968)
The Devil's Advocate (1997)
The Unborn (2009)
End of Days (1999)
The Omen (1976)
