Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Freefall by Joss Whedon

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Freefall by Joss Whedon
2012, Dark Horse
Series: Book 1 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 9

Synopsis: Season 8 ended with a bang that cut the world off from magic - culminating in another set of world-ending problems. Buffy has left her best friend, Willow, powerless, and brought an end to a millennia-long tradition of superpowered girls. By day, Buffy is a twenty-something waitress with no real direction, and even though magic is gone, she's still a Vampire Slayer by night. Bigger problem? Vampires are becoming an epidemic...of zompires

Why read: Love Buffy.

What impressed me: Buffy just keeps on chugging. As a waitress without a plan, Buffy's life is vaguely reminiscent of the episode "Anne" when she ran away from home. But this is way better, because she still has the gang around her.

What disappointed me: This first volume of season 9 was kind of a downer. And more, Angel and Faith have left for their own comic spinoff.

Recommended: Yes. Season 9 is here. Buffy fans rejoice.

Continue series: Absolutely. Love me some Buffy.
