Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead, The Visit, Hansel & Gretel Get Baked and Hotel Transylvania 2

October Horror Movie Challenge Day 10

Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead (2014)

Why I Watched:
Zombie Theme Night

What I Learned:
  • Starts quickly, much bloodshed and zombie action, but no backstory to care about the characters
  • They have a blood test for zombism, like 2 days into the outbreak. Less than realistic.
  • Zombies in Hannibal Lector masks. That's different. And effective, I suppose.
  • Just hit the Mad Max angle. Interesting, sure, but not the least bit plausible.
  • I am liking how they actually used the idea of being immune to zombies instead of glossing over it like most films

Rating:

The Visit (2015)

What I Learned:
  • Pop star names instead of swear words is genius.
  • This girl is the world's best sister. I could barely deal with my own brother at her age and he wasn't a rapping germaphobe.

Rating:

Hansel & Gretel Get Baked (2013)

What I Learned:
  • Got the munchies? Have some sardines.
  • Lara Flynn Boyle is a badass

Rating:

Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015)

Why I Watched:
Movie Night with the kids

What I Learned:
  • The kids are laughing, a lot.
  • I liked the first one better
  • That ending, predictable for adults but the kids were SHOCKED.

  1. I wanted to see The Visit, but after a few people that didn't like it and said it wasn't scary, I'll wait till video. I'll see Hotel Tran. 2, but I didn't think it would be better than the first. : )
